Our everyday life

Here at Sternen-Schloss daycare , the day starts early when the first little stars are greeted with a warm smile from 06:45. While the children have a leisurely breakfast and plan their first adventures of the day, we hold valuable handover talks with the parents and prepare everything for the day.

The morning gets off to an exciting start! From 08:00, the children gather in their lovingly designed home groups. Our youngest children in the infant group are the first to get ready. At 09:00, the children help to prepare snack, a highlight for the little chefs!

Our morning circle at 09:15 is a cheerful start: we sing, tell stories and exchange ideas. This is followed by the first learning and play time, which includes walks, creative activities, games in the exercise room and exciting excursions. Until 10:45 a.m., the children are in their home group or explore the open area together with their caregivers.

Lunch is more than just a meal. From 11:15 to 12:00, the children enjoy their meal together, then wash their faces and hands and brush their teeth. Before they go to bed, the diapers are checked and the children can go to the toilet again.

Lunchtime is a relaxed break. From 12:00 to 14:00, the tired adventurers sleep while the other children are busy with quiet games or stories. We also use this time for our breaks and to say goodbye to some children who are being picked up.

The afternoon is full of new experiences. The second educational program block begins at 2:15 pm. Once again, the program includes a variety of activities such as walks, creative games, movement room activities and exciting excursions.

A snack together at 3:30 pm is another highlight. In summer, we like to enjoy this as an outdoor picnic. Afterwards, we tidy up together, the children are changed again and either engage in free play or there are guided activities until the children are picked up.

Our day ends as it began: With smiles and anticipation for the next day. From 16:00 to 18:45, the children are collected and the first tidying up begins. The children are changed again and accompanied until they are picked up.

Time for freedom and development: flexible design and rest periods in our daycare center routine

In addition to the set drop-off and pick-up times, mealtimes and sleep and rest times, there is time for free play and activities in the morning and afternoon. During drop-off and pick-up times, the children are in the partially open area, which encourages social interaction as the children are not restricted in their play and movement. In the morning and afternoon program blocks, however, the children are in their regular groups. This ensures that they can spend time with their caregivers in their home group, with whom they have a stable and reliable bond. The caregivers remain in close contact with the parents. This ensures a continuous and trusting exchange between the daycare center and the families.

During this time, we offer activities based on the children's needs and interests. We attach great importance to the children spending time outdoors every day. In everyday life, the children show us where their interests and strengths lie and what their needs are. We draw up our plans based on targeted observations.

Sufficient sleep and rest periods are of great importance for the child's development. We want to give the children space and time to recover from their day at nursery. That is why we provide the children with the necessary rest areas to recover and recharge their batteries for the next adventure. During the sleep and recovery phases, some children sleep. Others devote themselves to quiet activities, such as listening to stories or looking at books.

We organize transitions in the daily routine with the help of various rituals, such as singing or dancing together. These rituals give the children structure, orientation and a sense of security.
