Good cooperation between parents and the crèche is an important cornerstone for the child's well-being. Parents should know that their children are in good hands with us so that they can fulfill their obligations with as few worries as possible. Trust in the nursery enables the child to feel completely at ease and secure.
In our daycare center, the well-being of the child is at the center of everything we do. Our guiding principle is that each child develops and unfolds individually. The Sternen-Schloss crèche promotes this development process in close cooperation with the parents. We value openness, honesty and mutual trust in order to provide the best possible support for the child.
We responsibly create a stimulating learning environment for all children in order to support and accompany their individual development processes. We encourage the children's independence by trusting them with tasks, praising them and helping them to solve any problems that arise themselves.
Our educational activities are always based on children's rights, such as the right to health, the right to play and leisure, the right to participation and the right to protection from all forms of violence. We are also guided by the "Orientation Framework for Early Childhood Education, Care and Upbringing in Switzerland" and the "QualiKita" quality standards.
In order to ensure high quality in childcare work, it is important to regularly reflect on our daily educational activities and adapt them where necessary. In doing so, we also take into account social and scientific developments as well as the latest findings that influence and implement quality standards.
Living together in the daycare center, based on reliable relationships between adults and children, is characterized by appreciation, equality and participation.
Structures and rituals give the children stability and security. Recurring routines and a structured daily routine contribute to well-being and carefree learning. We give each child the time and support they need to develop at their own pace.
By working in different social forms and through the partially open group dynamics of infant and mixed-age groups, the children learn to interact tolerantly with younger, older and children of the same age. We want to teach the children mutual understanding and respect for the uniqueness of human beings. Through contact with each other, the children develop the ability to perceive and express their feelings and needs.
Children are constantly searching, researching and experimenting; they want to discover and create new things. We responsibly design a stimulating learning environment for all children to encourage these natural and creative impulses and to support and guide the children in their learning process. We offer the children suitable activities, stimulation, learning opportunities, materials and joint activities so that they can live out their creativity and develop cognitive skills.
We regard every child as an independent personality with their own needs and individual circumstances. Each child shapes their own individual development and educational processes. In doing so, we build on the child's strengths and take their weaknesses into account. We support each child in the development of self-esteem, independence and self-reliance.
Communication is the most important means of expression and exchange for conveying information or emotions between people. Communication takes place in verbal and non-verbal form. Particularly with young children who are still learning to speak, body language must be given special consideration in order to interpret their behavior correctly and to be able to respond to possible needs. We encourage thinking and speaking in a playful way with poems, songs and verses.
We also offer bilingual childcare in German and English. This enables children who do not grow up bilingual to have their first contact with a foreign language. The immersive method focuses on facial expressions and gestures and is not linked to any performance expectations. For foreign-language children, our bilingual care offers language development and a sense of belonging.
The employees at Sternen-Schloss daycare are aware of their role model function and behave accordingly. For example, we use our language consciously and treat each other with appreciation and respect.
There is enough space for spontaneous activities so that we can satisfy every child's natural urge to move. Movement is very important to us and we want to create a healthy and conscious body awareness and well-being. By spending time outdoors every day, the children learn how to interact with the environment and nature through play. Especially during our regular forest excursions, all of the children's senses are stimulated, which contributes to the formation of important connections in the brain. These synapses are crucial for a child's learning and development, as they can transmit information, control signal transmission and store information.
Personal hygiene is very important to us, as it contributes to the healthy development of the child and helps to prevent illnesses and infections. Children who wear a diaper are changed regularly and also as required. The children wash their hands before lunch or after going to the toilet and are supported in doing so. They brush their teeth after lunch. We motivate and help the children to do this. If it rains outside and the large puddles are so tempting that the children are soaked after the walk, we are happy if the parents bring spare clothes. This way, the child can always feel comfortable and fresh.
We attach great importance to a healthy and natural diet. Fresh and tasty dishes are prepared daily. A well thought-out weekly menu plan ensures variety and balance. We involve the children in the menu planning and in the preparation and cooking of the meals. The child should discover that eating and drinking can be enjoyable and tasty. They should be able to experience a variety of sensory experiences and constantly expand their independence in eating and drinking. The children are encouraged to try all foods. However, they are not put under pressure to eat something they don't like. The individual nutritional needs of the children are taken into account after consultation with the parents (allergies, illnesses, intolerances, etc.).
We want to sensitize the children to nature. We offer various opportunities to experience nature, for example through our daily outdoor activities or our forest days. The children should experience the wind and weather with all their senses, feel the changing seasons and explore nature according to their individual interests. This awakens their senses and sharpens their perception.
